Rather than walking through the halls of what I could only imagine is really a beautiful Silicon Valley headquarters, I was sitting some 3,000 miles within my laptop in my own childhood bedroom in Andover away, NH.

Starting was intimidating. I feared I’d miss a significant meeting or get left out because of the virtual setting. I couldn’t have already been more wrong; within my internship I’ve felt supported in more ways than I could’ve imagined. I’ve my intern cohort, my manager, my team, and the HRUP community. I’ve never felt nearer to a group of individuals who I haven’t met “in real life” – and Cisco employees have a tendency to rally all around us interns. Everyone really wants to help they can to make sure we have an excellent experience however.

I think probably the most challenging times reveal a company’s true values and Cisco has continued to impress me in these trying times as their culture thrives and I could start to see the support system doing his thing.
