Safety of Foggy Content in 2023
The 2023 Data Protection Trends Report, the largest independent study on storage and data protection in the industry, is another work challenge whose findings Veeam is pleased to announce. This research was carried out by a third-party research company and is completely independent, representing the entire marketplace, not just from Veeam clients. For the past four years, Veeam has been asking a lot of the same questions, which results in strong trending and ambitious prediction potential. The use of the sky for data safety and interest in it are both increasing. See the real responses from the last four years down, as well as the projections for the next two decades, 2022 and 2023.
- We observe an increase in cloud borrowing for storage using cloud-services as part of an entire data protection technique, much like other spikes in the adoption of the cloud that started with the pandemic in 2020 and led into 2021.
- Interviewees predict that they will use more fog services over the next two years than they did the previous three.
The same cloud-powered fashion change from disaster recovery to storage.
- Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery ( BC / DR ) cloud usage increased from 36 % to 47 % as expected in 2023.
- Over the following two years, the future privileges are also increased to 55 %, with the majority saying that by then, their disaster recovery strategy will heavily rely on the sky.
- Overall, the data supports the idea that self-managed data centers for BC / DR are being replaced by cloud infrastructure and / or a DRaaS provider.
The next step was to consider implementing cloud-powered data protection by using service providers through Backup- as a Service ( BaaS ) and / or Disaster Recovery’ s as-a-Service( DRasS ). As we can see above, the self-reported involvement in cloud-powered data protection is not only exceptionally good, but also extremely high in both the interest and likelihood of using a service provider for some or most of an organization’s servers. In the following paragraphs, we shade out the No, Unlikely, and Probably BaaS and DRAAS use messages and find that 81 % of 4,200 respondents say they are Very Good to or Almost Certainly will secure the majority or all machines via DRAMs in the upcoming two years. We note the following significant contributing factors, despite the fact that there may be a variety of causes for this intense interest in BaaS and DRaAS:
- willingness to open up the company for additional tasks
- Lack of internal experience or skill deficiencies
- Rising Service Level Agreements ( SLAs ), expanding data volumes, and lengthening retention make current strategies obsolete for the future.
- restrictions on the supply chain and the inability to acquire network
- Economics, fee, and paying with OpEx as opposed to paying up front with CapEx
We also go into the average length of data retention and how this is accomplished in the video above. You might be surprised by the outcomes! Hint, strip is now widely used today.
