We’re sharing a good update to the Logical Separation on AWS: Moving Beyond Physical Isolation in the Era of Cloud Processing whitepaper to greatly help customers take advantage of the protection and innovation great things about logical separation within the cloud. This document discusses utilizing a multi-pronged method—leveraging identity administration, network safety, serverless and containers providers, instance and host functions, logging, and encryption—to create logical protection mechanisms that meet and frequently exceed the security outcomes of physical separation of assets and other on-premises safety approaches. Public industry and commercial organizations globally can leverage these mechanisms to a lot more confidently migrate delicate workloads to the cloud with no need for actually dedicated infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) addresses the concerns generating physical separation specifications through the logical security capabilities we offer clients and the security settings we’ve in place to safeguard customer data. The effectiveness of that isolation combined with automation and versatility that the isolation provides is usually on par with or much better than the protection controls observed in traditional physically divided environments.

The paper highlights a U.S. Section of Protection (DoD) use situation demonstrating the way the AWS logical separation features fulfilled the intent behind a DoD requirement of dedicated, isolated infrastructure because of its most delicate unclassified workloads physically.
