Google fits Mozilla, reduces time taken between Chrome upgrades to a month
Google plans to accelerate Chrome’s release schedule to complement rival Firefox’s every-four-week cadence.
The Mountain Look at, Calif. company will offer you a fresh release channel also, dubbed “Extended Stable,” which will be refreshed eight days every, aimed at enterprises weary of regular deployments.
“Once we have enhanced our tests and release procedures for Chrome and deployed bi-weekly security improvements to enhance our patch gap, it grew to become very clear that we could shorten our discharge cycle and deliver brand new features more rapidly,” Alex Mineer, technical plan manager, Chrome functions, wrote in a March 4 write-up to the Chromium weblog .
